One of my other passions is building PCs and helping others with their computer problems. Here is some of the tools I Use and Recommend:
Windows Vista (x86) (x64) - Don't believe the press, if you take the time to understand Vista and customize it for your usage, it is a wonderfully useful and secure Operating System.
Registry Clean Expert - Offers Registry Cleaner, a handy tool to clean registry, optimize system performance, organize your system startup items and IE BHOs.
Mozilla FireFox - FireFox is a fast, highly customizable browser. I have used it for years and it is the first thing I install after a new PC is built or clean install done.
ESET Smart Security 4 - One of the best and fastest protection packages available. Before this I tested Kaspersky, Norton, and OneCare, Nod 32 is best for me.
Auslogics Disk Defrag, A great third party utility for defragging your hard drive. Has a visual display of its progress and for a free program does an excellent job of keeping your hard drive running smoothly.
